ROLE
We need an experienced Technical Editor at NAVSEA’s Safety and Regulatory Compliance Directorate (SEA 09) in support of the Navy Modernization (NM) Program. SEA 09P is responsible for developing and maintaining the Navy Modernization Process (NMP), policies, and supporting information systems that govern the planning, engineering, and execution of modernization across the surface fleet. This contract supports SEA 09P in advancing modernization process standardization, continuous improvement, and integration with the Navy’s digital engineering and IT systems. In this role, you will edit, prepare, and manage modernization documentation, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with SEA 09P editorial and configuration management standards. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Edits and formats modernization process documentation, technical reports, and policy manuals
- Ensures compliance with Navy and SEA 09P editorial, formatting, and configuration standards
- Coordinates document reviews, tracks version control, and manages updates through configuration control processes
- Ensures consistency of terminology, style, and technical accuracy across modernization publications
- Prepares documentation for final Government submission and publication
- Supports preparation of presentations, training materials, and modernization user guides
- Maintains document libraries, indexes, and archival control in accordance with QMS standards
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Experience creating/editing technical materials, specializing in DoD 5000 process, Navy Modernization, and Change Management -OR-
- Specialized experience in ISO 9001 – Quality Management System (QMS) Principles and Practices and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level III Principles and Practices
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Master’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related discipline with 7+ years of experience related to the required skills/experience above -OR-
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or related discipline with 10+ years of experience related to the required skills/experience above -OR-
- High School diploma with 15+ years of experience related to the required skills/experience above
