Scrum Master ROLE We need an experienced Scrum Master at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC is modernizing its Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) system by developing a secure, cloud-based filing system and intelligent disclosure platform called FarPoint. In this role, you will manage agile software development efforts, facilitate sprint ceremonies, ensure the team follows established agile practices, and work closely with the Program Manager and Technical Lead to deliver working software increments throughout the development lifecycle. RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the PM and Technical Lead to align the scrum team with project delivery goals and schedule
Identify program blocks and independently work with SEC IT and clients to resolve them
Monitor project delivery closely for quantity and quality and provide insights for continuous service improvement
Lead scrum teams of 10-12 personnel
Manage Agile Software Development efforts using proven Scrum methodologies
Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
Ensure the team maintains velocity and meets sprint commitments
Remove impediments and blockers that affect team productivity
Coach the team on agile best practices and continuous improvement
Maintain and update agile metrics including velocity charts, sprint burn-down/product burn-up charts, code coverage, and backlog traceability
Facilitate collaboration between federal staff and contractor team members
Ensure transparency through real-time visibility into team performance metrics
Promote continuous feedback loops and validated learning
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
12+ years of IT experience with 5+ years as a scrum master on programs with 10+ personnel
Proven experience with managing Agile Software Development efforts
Hands-on technical experience – preferrable
Ability to rapidly prioritize competing requirements
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Proven knowledge of industry standards and best practices
Working knowledge of human-centered design practices
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
Product Delivery certification (e.g. Certified Scrum Master) or equivalent work experience
Agile certifications including SAFe
LOCATION
