Litigation Support Technologist ROLE We are seeking an experienced Litigation Support Technologist to support the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO), District of Utah. The USAO serves as the principal litigator for the United States Government across the state of Utah, prosecuting criminal cases and handling complex civil matters on behalf of the federal government. In this role, you will provide high-level technical and administrative support for complex, data-intensive Affirmative Civil Enforcement (ACE) matters, managing the full lifecycle of electronically stored information (ESI), administering document review platforms, conducting legal research, and supporting ACE attorneys through all phases of litigation. RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the full lifecycle of Electronically Stored Information (ESI) — including collection, tracking, processing, and production — in adherence to standard protocols for imaging and metadata extraction
Administers document review databases, including Relativity and Eclipse, and supports USAO Automated Litigation Support (ALS) staff on complex ACE matters
Conducts legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw and supports ACE attorneys in the analysis of referrals, pleadings, and complex electronic records
Drafts legal documents, summarizes reports, and prepares correspondence at the Paralegal III level
Tracks court deadlines and manages case calendaring to ensure rigorous litigation timeline adherence
Coordinates pretrial witness activities and provides substantive litigation support across all phases of case preparation
Processes discovery requests and ensures timely, protocol-compliant production of responsive documents
Maintains accurate and organized case files for voluminous, data-intensive ACE matters with rigorous attention to detail
Handles substantive inquiries and collaborates effectively with attorneys, investigators, and court personnel at all staff levels
Performs all work on-site using government-furnished equipment, network systems, and databases in accordance with DOJ security and privacy requirements
Completes required DOJ training (ethics, cyber awareness, privacy and records management) within prescribed timeframes and annually thereafter
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree preferred; OR
Certified Paralegal (CP) credential accepted in lieu of degree
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
3–5+ years of progressive experience in litigation support or as a paralegal in a fast-paced legal environment
Advanced knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and the end-to-end litigation lifecycle
Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Professional
Hands-on experience with litigation support platforms; Relativity and/or Eclipse strongly preferred
Proficiency in legal research tools, including LexisNexis and/or Westlaw
Demonstrated ability to manage, analyze, and organize complex, voluminous datasets and electronic case files
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle substantive legal inquiries with professionalism
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment

Base Hourly Wage: $33.63 per hour
Health & Welfare (Benefits rate): $5.09 per hour
Total Hourly Compensation: $38.72 per hour
