Deputy Program Manager ROLE We need an experienced Deputy Program Manager at the Surface Ship Maintenance and Modernization and Sustainment Directorate (SEA 21). SEA 21 is the Navy’s center of excellence for managing the lifecycle of its surface fleet. Responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance, modernization, and inactivation activities, SEA 21 ensures that surface ships are effectively supported from introduction to retirement. The directorate integrates logistics, programmatic oversight, training, and technical solutions to help extend ship life, enhance efficiency, and align fleet capabilities with evolving requirements.In this role, you will support the Program Manager in monitoring deliverables, coordinating internal activities, and ensuring timely documentation, reporting, and performance tracking across the task order. Identify task order needs such as resources, staff, or finances by reviewing project objectives and schedules.
Request and review project updates to ensure program deadlines and requirements are met.
Review reports submitted by staff members to recommend approval or suggest changes.
Confer with program personnel to discuss issues and resolve problems with task order performance.
Supervise, orient, and train contractor personnel working on the task order.
Develop and update project plans including information such as objectives, technologies, schedules, funding, and staffing in support of task order requirements.
Manage task order documents by recording information and updating and maintaining documents and information systems.
Assign duties and responsibilities to contractor personnel for projects and programs and document and communicate those responsibilities to programs.
Establish work procedures and schedules to organize the daily work of contractor employees on the task order.
Plan, schedule, or coordinate project activities related to the task order.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of professional experience related to program management
Demonstrated experience in Navy Project Management
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in business or financial related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PMP Certification
Master's degree in business or financial related field
