IT Specialist ROLE We need an IT Specialist for the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of California (USAO-EDCA). RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and document back-up of internal servers under direction
Maintain telecommunication and web systems under direction
Support legacy desktops, laptops, and servers
Install new hardware/software to meet Government standards
Generate reports, as requested, and provide guidance and technical training to support staff
Assist other IT staff in special events and activities, as required
Monitor network and device performance, security, and backups
Follow procedures and provide internal IT support that includes software updates and hardware maintenance
Follow the implementation, deployment, and operation of information systems
Monitor website functionality and implement technologies to improve access to data and enhance productivity
Create status reports and present findings to the Systems Manager
Propose end-user training as required, and perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Working knowledge of networked computers using Windows 10, MS Office suite, and networked printers
Knowledge of Automated Records Information Management
Knowledge of computer systems, IT principles, and methods
Knowledge of systems testing and evaluation principles, methods, and tools
Knowledge of IT security principles and methods
Knowledge of COTS products, internet technologies, and emerging IT
Experience with Webex, MS Teams, Skype, Zoom
Able to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
Able to work occasional off-hours duty to permit timely attention to mission-critical functions
Knowledge of VPN, firewalls, encryption
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and strong organizational and time management skills
Self-motivation and the ability to take initiative and multitask
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
