Data Scientist / Dashboard Developer
We need an experienced Data Scientist / Dashboard Developer to support the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Personnel and Readiness (OUSW P&R) CIO Cyber Workforce through a subcontract with Booz Allen Hamilton. This office manages the technology and data behind the Department of War's people, including service members, civilian employees, and military families, and turns that information into insight leaders can act on. In this role, you will analyze data from multiple sources, develop dashboards and visualizations, and turn complex findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership. You will use Qlik, SQL, Databricks, Python, Spark, and Pandas to shape data, identify trends, and answer questions about organizational and process performance. You will also support data management practices that enable data science, enterprise analytics, and artificial intelligence products, including the secure handling of sensitive personnel data.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform data analysis and provide recommendations through dashboards, visualizations, and reports using Qlik Sense or Tableau
  • Develop data manipulation scripts using SQL or other applications
  • Shape data to answer questions about organizational and process performance
  • Analyze datasets from disparate sources to identify patterns, trends, insights, and areas of concern
  • Translate analytical findings into clear narratives that support decision making and brief senior leadership
  • Define and execute data management techniques and develop products that enable data science, enterprise analytics, and artificial intelligence
  • Receive, store, analyze, and protect non-sensitive and sensitive data and data models involving DoW military and civilian personnel and military personnel dependents
  • Handle personally identifying information and protected health information in accordance with applicable data protection requirements
  • Prepare and edit technical content for business audiences

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three (3) to ten (10) years of directly related experience as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with technologies such as Databricks, Python, Spark, and Pandas
  • Proficiency in Qlik
  • Experience with Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, or other Business Intelligence (BI) tools
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results with little direction or oversight
  • Comfortable using AI tools to improve product quality and delivery speed
  • Aptitude for technical writing and editing for business audiences

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with machine learning models and/or generative AI
  • Experience with cloud data structures such as AWS S3, Delta tables, and external tables
  • Demonstrated experience building end-to-end data pipelines in Databricks
  • Proven ability to integrate existing legacy systems

EDUCATION
  • B.A./B.S. or M.A./M.S. in a related field

  • Fully remote - Full telework allowed

COMPENSATION
  • Salary range: $155,000 - $165,000
