System Support Specialist
ROLE
We need an experienced System Support Specialist at the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the Southern District of Texas (SDTX). RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides troubleshooting assistance and problem resolution for personal computers, servers, and LANs
- Supports installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting for PCs linked to networks, printers, and other peripherals
- Installs and tests personal computers, printers, and other peripherals
- Configures operating systems and application software
- Provides on-site and remote technical and operational support, including training for PC hardware and software
- Performs hardware and software diagnostics and coordinates needed repairs
- Resolves computer system issues and facilitates communication between users and LAN components
- Supports system configuration reviews and software evaluations
- Delivers help desk support via email, phone, or in-person interactions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience providing direct end-user application support, including both telephone support and on-site assistance to users
- Must have hands-on familiarity with the network, telecommunications, and operating systems environment of the applications being supported
- Should be an expert user of word processing, spreadsheet, and email systems
- Prior teaching/training experience involving computer applications (database, imaging, or other automated litigation support applications) - Strongly preferred
- Prior experience in automated litigation support - Preferred
- Experience with DOJ office automation environments - Preferred
- Excellent oral and written communications skills required, pleasant telephone manner is highly valued
EDUCATION
- Undergraduate Degree in a related field - preferred

- U.S. citizenship is required since this role supports the U.S. Federal government
